CLEVELAND, Ohio – Great Lakes Brewing Co. is planning a “Hops For Hope” fundraiser and Liquid Courage beer-tapping.

The event, which will be hosted in partnership with the SebastianStrong Foundation, is 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, in the brewery’s tasting room. Proceeds will benefit the Cleveland Clinic’s fundraising initiative VeloSano and Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital.

The foundation is dedicated to raising awareness of childhood cancers and funding research for less toxic, more targeted treatments and cures. Its namesake is Sebastian Nicolas Ortiz, who was diagnosed with a soft-tissue cancer and underwent 32 rounds of chemotherapy, 23 rounds of radiation and four surgeries. He died at age 16 in 2016.

The brewery will donate $1 for every pint of Liquid Courage and Cold Rush Premium Light Lager sold September 4-7.

Cost is $35 and includes a beer and commemorative glass, plus appetizers.

The tasting room is at 2701 Carroll Ave., Cleveland.
